Why we should stop driving in winter on Liberty Mountain Resort

Posted February 16, 2019 12:31:52 Winter driving season for the popular Liberty Mountain resort is ending this week and we’re excited to announce that the resort is shutting down its road trip experience starting on Sunday, February 17.

The resort’s official blog announced the closing, noting that the road trip has been “terminated due to extreme weather conditions and limited capacity” and that “the resort is unable to operate due to the safety of our guests and staff.”

Liberty Mountain Resort’s official Facebook page, as well as the resort’s Twitter feed and Instagram, posted similar messages earlier in the week: The road trip was cancelled due to severe weather conditions on Sunday February 17, 2018.

We will not be offering a return trip to Liberty Mountain this week, but you can still enjoy a nice walk, or take a guided tour in the resort area.

We are grateful for all our loyal guests who are still visiting and staying in the Liberty Mountain area and will continue to monitor the situation.

The closure of the road tour was not a surprise to many.

Liberty Mountain’s social media posts had already been warning visitors about the closure of their road trip this week.

We have been monitoring the situation closely and are working with our partners in Canada to ensure that all our guests, as we always do, will be safe and have the opportunity to enjoy our resort during the harsh weather.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and hope that everyone is safe during this difficult time.
